Welcome to all our friends of the Down Syndrome Association of Orange County. We are excited to announce our new DSAOC Auction and Shopping Site, powered by Dubli.

This is the most exciting site that we have seen in some time, and the best part is......if you play the auctions or shop on the site...... DSAOC gets up to 30% in commissions. How about that?

Registration is free so please go directly to our new home page and follow the link for shopping. Registration is a two step process. After you fill out the short registration form and submit, you will receive a confirmation email from Dubli. (Be on the lookout for it because sometimes it ends up in your SPAM folder.) You will need to confirm your registration, before you become active.

Although the shopping site is free, you will need some credits to play the reverse auctions where you are gauranteed to get the best prices on the internet. Seriously, Dubli gaurantees it and they will give you your money back + 10% if you find the same item at a better price anywhere.

If you confirm your registration by Nov 9th, our facilitator, Bob Couzens, will send you (3) free credits to try your hand at the auctions. Recently, a new Ford GT valued at $32,000 went off in the unique bid auction for $855.50. Isn't that amazing!

Remember, to take advantage of the free credits, you must complete your registration by Nov 9th........so do it now if you can. Once you have registered, please send an email to bobcouzens@yahoo.com and he will send you the free credits. By the way, please remember to use your first and last names in the username field.

Thanks, as always, for your continued support of DSAOC.

Dubli has added some new search features to the website. Now you can search the Express Auction for items offered by a specific manufacturer. As an example, if you are looking for items offered by Apple, there are currently 24 items available. Also, you can search the Express Auction alphabetically, or by price.

These changes just show that Dubli is listening to their customers and is constantly trying to improve the experience. We like that!

Wow! I was way off the mark on predicting what the winning bid would be for the Ford GT in the unique auction. The auction ended yesterday evening and the lowest unique bid was: $855.50. That is just amazing! The GT is valued at: $32,000!At one point, I had a unique bid at: $1,259.75...but I never imagined that it would be even close to the final bid. Hmmm. It is interesting to see the profile of the bids. Check the link below and scroll down to see the profile. http://us.dubli.com/Ford-Mustang-GT__3e_2734

Tomorrow, Saturday, the Ford Mustang GT 4.6L goes off on the unique bid auction. This should be exciting. Just to remind you.....the $25,000 Harley Davidson went off in July for only $4700.25, a savings of 81%. (Check our post below on 7/18.) Also in July, the Mercedes C300 valued at $37,000, was won for only $8000.50, a savings of 78%. (Check our post on 7/10.)I'll just bet that the Mustang which is valued at $32,000, goes off for less than $10,000. Wanna bet? I'll send you (10) free credits if I'm wrong. You don't have to send me anything if I'm right. How's that for a win-win. Anyway, check the link below:http://us.dubli.com/Ford-Mustang-GT__3_2734Just shoot me an email if you want to take my bet, (bob_couzens@yahoo.com) If it goes off for more than $10,000, I will send you the (10) free credits. I promise. Good luck.

Lots has been happening at Dubli this Summer. I will try to update the log every few days to keep you updated. In September, Dubli will be launching in Australia and New Zealand in our quest to become the 1st worldwide auction and shopping portal. There are events scheduled in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, and then on to Auckland, New Zealand, all before the end of September. In November, Dubli expects to be able to open the auctions to everyone on the system, regardless of their respective countries. That means that if you are in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, or here in the US....we will all be bidding on the same items in the same worldwide auction. Since there will be more players, the prices should drop faster and the savings will be even greater. That should be exciting. In addition, Dubli has plans to open in China by the end of this year.Check out the unique auctions. In 10 days, the Ford Mustang GT unique auction ends. Click the link below for details:http://us.dubli.com/Ford-Mustang-GT__3_2734Also, the New York Spy Game unique bid ends in 17 days. This is pretty crazy and different. If you win, you are transported to the Waldorf Astoria for 3 nights to play the game. The total package has a value of up to $35,000. You just gotta check this out to see how innovative Dubli is getting in these exciting offerings. See the link below for details:http://us.dubli.com/The-New-York-Spygame__3_2913

I can't believe what happened on the unique auction for the $10,000 Visa card. The auction closed on Saturday, 7/25, and the lowest, unique bid was: $1700.50, an 82% savings. Check it out by clicking on completed auctions in the unique auction section. You can see the final bids in the description section for the Visa Card. The last $10,000 Visa card went for $3103.25, so this one was an even better. Just amazing. The best part is that Dubli is donating all of the revenue to charity.

Just the other day, someone mentioned to me that they don't need Dubli because they use Overstock.com. I told them that Overstock.com is listed under department stores in Dubli. I explained that if they like Overstock.com, they should access Overstock.com, (the exact same website), through the shopping mall in Dubli and get 3.5% in reward points just for going through Dubli. That is the magic in all of this. Check it out.

Well, the Harley was won on the unique bid for: $4700.25. What a deal as this Harley was valued at: $25,000. I hope that my last post didn't deter anyone. I just didn't expect those low numbers. If you are curious about this you can see all the results of unique auction bidding under the description of the item after the auction has been completed. It is pretty interesting to see the gaps in the chart. In the description it says that you can pick up the bike at Hacienda Harley in Arizona. If you want to fly in to Sky Harbor Airport and ride your new bike home, Dubli will pay for your one way fare and pick you up at the airport and shuttle you to the dealership. Now that's how you treat a winner!!Check out the $10,000 Visa card now on the unique auction. The last $10,000 Visa card was won for: $3103.25.

I made a bid for the Harley at $9001.50 and it was neither unique nor the lowest bid. Just wanted to pass that on so that you don't bother to bid under that number. Geez, I may lose my bet that this will go out under $10,000. Check it out. The auction closes at 6pm PST tonight, July 17th

One more update. I see that the unique auction for the Harley Davidson goes off tomorrow at 6pm. I will bet anyone that this Harley is won for under $10,000, and it has a value of $25,000. I don't need a Harley, but it should be fun to watch.

Last night, I needed to send some sympathy flowers to a friend who lost their mother. I went to Dubli under flowers and you can't believe the choices. I could have used FTD; Teleflowers, 1-800 Flowers, out of the total of 81 choices. Anyway, I chose Internet Florist because I got 10% in points! They did a great job, delivered next day, and my friend was very pleased. I highly recommend them.

Some exciting unique auctions have completed recently! Did you see that the car surprise auction turned out to be a brand new C300 Mercedes Benz! The lowest unique bid was $8000.50. The winner was able to buy the $37,000 car for $8000.50, a 78% savings! Check it out in the completed auctions section of the unique bid auction. Scroll down to 6/28. Also, in a unique bid auction which completed on 7/08, the lowest unique bid on the Home Cinema Surprise was $36.50 for this package with a value of: $1670, a savings of: 97%.These unique auctions sure are fun to watch....but they really are difficult to win. Play if you choose, but for my money, I still think that the Express Auctions are the guaranteed best value.

This is pretty neat. On the last unique auction for a $10,000 credit card, all of the revenue was donated to "Blessings in a Backpack". The following was copied from the website.VISA debit card $10.000 Charity Auction. Part of our mission statement is to support worthwhile Charities around the world. The focus is on supporting children in need. In this light we are featuring our second Charity Auction to benefit 'Blessings in a Backpack'. This program feeds children in grades K-5 in Title 1 public schools; who qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Meal Program and who may not have any or enough food on the weekends. 'Blessings in a Backpack' is currently feeding over 10,000 children in Kentucky, Indiana, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, California and New York in public schools. It only takes $80 to feed a child for an entire school year. The Program works like this: a school is chosen and a local grocer partners with the program to provide food for meals in the backpacks. Every Friday, students receive their backpacks with food that requires little or no preparation. They return with their backpacks on Monday ready to learn. The person who is awarded this charity auction, will personally receive a $10,000 Visa debit card to use as they wish. All of the revenue from the auction will be donated to 'Blessings in a Backpack'.Posted by Team Up For Tomorrow at 6:00 PM 0 comments

There is another $10,000 Visa card on the Unique Bid Auction. You have lots of time left on this one as it doesn't end for 28 more days. This will be exciting because the last $10,000 Visa card was won for: $3103.25. The best part is that all of the money that was bid went to charity! Did you know: Dubli guarantees the best prices on the internet with their Price Protection Guarantee. I have copied the guarantee directly from the front page of your website and pasted it below:Customers have lots of options where to purchase the things they are looking for. Price is one of the biggest reasons people choose to purchase at a particular store or internet site. It is our goal to make sure that our price is truly the best price you can find anywhere. We are so sure of this that we are willing to give you a Price Protection Guarantee. Price Protection Guarantee* - If you find a competitor who has the same product at a lower price than ours, within two weeks after you have purchased the item from us, we will not only match their price but also credit your account with 10% of the difference. For example you purchase an item from us at $100 and you find another vendor who has the same product and is advertising it for $90, we will credit you the $10 difference plus an additional $1.00 for a total of $11.00.
